Review I recieved about ten minutes ago for a Buffy/Criminal Minds cross I'm writing (and, yes, forgetting to post over here, shut up).

I really hope you skip the slash in this fic. I really hate when cannon characters are all twisted up to make slash. I think that the characters are interesting enough without gender bending or twisting or changes. Tara/ Willow are cannon and I have to say Tara is a favorite of mine. In many ways more so than Willow so that pairing fits. Xander as gay is just a major joke and the miltiary men dont ask dont tell was not is not a free ride to living openly as a gay person. It was a half assed attempt to placate a certain segment of the population while not pissing off the other leaving neither side overly happy. It is insulting to gay people and even more so to straight ones because they have to pretend to be blind, deaf and dumb. Because even if they know a friend is gay they cannot openly accept it and support their friends and their partners. So, hopefully you will keep it cannon.

I got a review for Help that basically ran 'Wow, pretty good for an AU! Because we all know John isn't actually any better at using Ancient tech than anybody else. It's a common fandom error that he is. But this is an AU so it doesn't count!'

Holy inappropriate rantings, Batman. I also love that the rant's all about the straight person pain. *eyerolls*

I'm tempted to be snarky and ask the reviewer their opinion on Willow/Kennedy and if that "counts". Xander as gay isn't a joke, it's a plotline that almost happened. And well, I'm not even going to touch the whole 'slash is twisting up the characters' angle, except to say that someone here has issues about gay people and it's not Jade or Angel. (Or any other repliers to this post.)

What gets me is that I've made it almost painfully obvious I plan to have non-cannon sexuality in here. Not to mention I outright ask the reviews to make suggestions on possible pairings, slash or otherwise, for Spencer.

And that was only the main part of the review. There was a whole small part about Buffy's sexual exploration in the comics as a "laugh and a half."

Looking it over now though, I realized its a private review so she obviously knew if it was public it would piss people off. *shrugs*

Yeah, I never get why people keep reading even when it's something they despise.

this is why I don't bother to ask people's opinion on pairings; you always get people posting shit like this. I mean, sometimes you get it anyway, but damn.
