So, I woke up this morning and threw up. I wasn't feeling well but I went to class anyway because I wanted my quiz back and if you don't show up the day he hands them out, he won't give it back to you till finals week. Anyway, I spent an hour sitting in class, going over our quiz (85%!) and only half paying attention since A, I was fighting nausea, and B, I was anxious to get back to my apartment because Morphicon tickets went on sale when I got out. Despite what everyone was saying about Gold not selling out quick, I KNEW they would go faster than the head honcho's expected. Within an hour, at least 100 of the 200 had been sold.

I managed to get home in one piece and bought my ticket--$150 for Gold, plus $50 if I want to do the breakfast, $20 for the official shirt, etc. Its somewhat ridiculous. As Batgirl said, Gold alone is more than Dragoncon.

All I have to say is, the goodie bags better be morphenomenal, lol.

One side effect of this, however, is that we have our first guest confirmation--cause it'd be kinda hard to have "karate lesson with Steve Cardenas" without, you know, Steve Cardenas. :)

So, who else is going?

So...I'm completely skipping the days leading up to PMC by posting these now, but I want to get this out there. To whet your appetite...

OMG I MET THE POWER RANGERS! )
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
I promise, promise, promise to upload my adventures and whatnot when I'm not so freakin tired. We drive out tomorrow (and HAVE NOT PACKED, OMG!) and getting home Tuesday so, you know, I may or may not have plenty of time to type. We'll see.

I will say this though--Jason Faunt and Erin Cahill were awesome! Seriously, I spent most of Saturday jumping between the vendors, the TF table, and the SPD table and I had a blast!

And today, when Erin finally arrived, I waited a bit until she didn't have as many people and went to say hi (I also had Katie with me, so we went around getting her autographs & pictures so that distracted me from even realizing she'd arrived). Erin was in the middle of talking with someone else when she saw me, abruptly stopped talking to them, grinned widely, and said hi and gave me a hug and then went back to talking to the other people, lol. She was insanely multi-tasking, it was crazy.

And I know I said I wasn't gonna do a full on post yet but I have to get this out--I WON THE MATT AUSTIN SPD HAT IN THE SILENT AUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, my vacation officially started Thursday morning. Me, being the insane-crazy-idiot I can sometimes be, went to bed at about 1am Thursday morning. I was woken up two hours later at 3am and were on the road by 4:10am.

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh. Jade sleep in car, please, kthanx.

The drive through NM to AZ was fun. I will post pics later. Much much later.

Today, to kill time before we could check into the hotel in AZ, we visited family. My cousin had a baby a little over a week ago--I held him for most of the first visit and a good portion of the second. I also played with Nicholas' two year old sister and five year old cousin--they were so cute and adorable and sweet! Then we stopped by and said hi to [personal profile] purplestripe66 at work. At first we kinda looked at each other cause we weren't sure (in my defense, she was wearing a HAT and I've never seen her in a hat) but then realized hey! Its her!

Then there was hugs. Ruby gives the best hugs. :D And from the excited chatter, I think my dad figured out we're both excited for our trip!

Introduced the family, discussed a few things. Dad admitted he was gonna stalk her house tomorrow so he knows where he's going Sunday morning when we pick her up (am hoping [personal profile] tsukino_akume is there so I can say hi on Sunday morning). I am also supposed to call and make sure Ruby is actually awake before we leave.

Afterwards we went back to visit with family some more and surprised my aunt and uncle, who did not know we were coming.

Then I got a shock. When I was fourteen, I really wanted my grandmothers jewelry box. It'd been passed from oldest daughter to oldest daughter and when grandma died, it went to my aunt. She doesn't have kids though so she decided it was going to me. I'm not technically the oldest girl but...yeah. My aunt and mom agreed I would take better care of it than my cousin. So I got the jewelry box while visiting her. My sister got a turqiose bracelet that originally belonged to our great great grandmother.

Tomorrow is my uncle again and then [profile] clex_monki89 for visiting and quite possibly another kidnapping attempt. >.< Also? FOOOOOOD! Then Sunday we head out to California.

I was gonna do more in depth posts about the trip and I'll try once we get to California (Ruby can help!) but am too tired. I will have pictures eventually. :D

Do not panic me by emailing me that my financial aid has been suspended effective immediately.

It was a computer glitch--I got an incomplete in a class because records screwed up grades for summer. For fifteen minutes, I was panicking since I leave for Arizona tomorrow at 4am. Then the Director of Fin Aid himself called to apologize--they knew about the screw up with records but somehow it still screwed with five students financial aid for the class.

*glowers*

*brightens*

On the flip side, I finally got my final portfolio for my creative non-fiction back. Dr. Mac is notorious for being blunt and completely honest in his comments and to be honest, I was a little hesitant to read his comments. He's incredibly hard to impress as he's an editor with a non-fiction journal and he's the non-fiction and grammar professor in the English department. It takes a lot to impress him.

I shouldn't have been worried. Apparently, he likes my writing.

*glows*

In other news? LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE WE LEAVE FOR ARIZONA AND THEN, CALIFORNIA!!!!!

TEN DAYS TILL MORPHICON!!!!!!!

To do List

jadelyntate: (morphicon)
Its waaaaaay too hot. I'm sweaty and all I did was walk across campus to the dorms to feed my old roommates fish while she's away. *grimces*

At least I didn't have to play "where is the pedestrian walkway through the construction now" game--they finally have them finished and open. Kinda. You still have to walk through a small bit of dirt cause they haven't gotten the tar in yet.

In other news, on my way home, I was thinking about all I have to do in the next ten days.

-Figure out my bill for school. Apparently, none of my grants/loans/etc. went through so I get to figure out why. *whimper* Not completely done, but will get it done today when I meet with my advisor to have him sign a paper for financial aid.

-Straighten up living room/kitchen
-Clean bathroom
-Clean bedroom
-Make space for Julia in bathroom/kitchen/living room
-Take out ALL trash
-Do ALL dishes
-Pack clothes What can I say, I'm awesome. ;)
-Pack toiletries/odds-n-ends
-Print out my paypal receipt for Morphicon so I can get my ticket (stick it in my laptop case so I don't lose it) Not in laptop case yet, but sitting on top of my TV shand with my PR figures
-write down feeding instructions for the fish
-Clean/replace water in both tanks
-Transfer funds from school card to bank card so school doesn't try taking my savings away
-Pay cell bill
-See about working next Monday/Tuesday to make up for hours lost on first week of school. Even if its small, I'd like to have some sort of a paycheck come September.

I leave in TEN DAYS! *SQUEALS*

.

.
.

That is all.
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
So, who's going on my flist?

I know [personal profile] purplestripe66 is as she's staying with me and I know [profile] second_batgirl is as well cause we've been assigned to do the Special Report of the Spandex Report together after it finishes.

So? Let me know cause I'm gonna compile a list of everyone going on LJ/DW!
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
So, every so year or so my school replaces their old desktops in the labs and sells em. They have them now for $250 with everything under the cut. If I get my refund at the end of the month and they still have some, I'll be buying one simply for gaming and other odds and ends, which would leave Dillon (my laptop) for homework and my writing. :D

Dell GX 620 )

I'd buy one now cause I do actually have about $1400 saved up but that's for Morphicon and I rather like the idea of having $800 spending money for that week. :p Point is, I can live without having a desktop, it would just be nice.

Speaking of Morphicon, the day we didn't know what we were gonna do, we figured out and [personal profile] purplestripe66 should be happy. We're going to this interactive science museum that has hundreds of hands-on experiments you can do. It should be interesting at the very least. :D
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
Would really like the members over at the PMC2 forum to stop complaining about things. Like [personal profile] browniebag said, before we got the info I could understand complaints cause they had just the fact it would happen, just not where or when or you know, anything.

There is currently a rather long discussion about having to pay for autographs at the Con. Seriously? STFU.

What's bugging me, however, are the people who aren't paying attention to what is being said and keep asking if "Is This is for guests?" or "Why haven't you invited __________." Seriously? Look at the damn list and tell me that's not awesome right there? Just because they haven't RSVPed doesn't mean they weren't invited or that they aren't even coming--at PMC1 they had a BUNCH of last minute sign-ups and some who just came without telling anyone (Deborah Phillips? She came cause Erin Cahill couldn't make it and asked her to go in her place--and don't get me started on Dan Southworth showing up randomly).

Seriously, stop complaining and be glad you're getting a PMC2 at all.
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
My dad finally got me a link to the website for the "hotel" we're staying at for Morphicon.

...

Its not a traditional hotel. They're townhouse type places!

...[personal profile] purplestripe66, this vacation should be one to remember!

For You're Viewing Pleasure---PICTURES! )

Rough itinerary (I say rough cause dad hasn't quite figured out which day is gonna be which of the first four) )

Prices )
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
Its only 4 days in and math is already kicking my ass. Of course, this is what I get for taking a math class in 4 weeks rather than 15.

Speaking of which, I had to call the school business office cause I got a bill saying I owed them 450 for my summer classes that I shouldn't have to owe them with my school loans. Turns out my school loans had been held up cause I wrote on my summer financial aid application that I was taking 6 credit hours (I am) but for some reason, the person who looked it over thought I said 2 (which is funny considering I PDF and typed it).

However, I kinda sorta...took out more loans than I needed so my refund this summer will be pretty big which means I'll have more money for Morphicon! ...as long as I don't screw up and use it all before August. >_<

Also? I may or may not be taking surfing lessons with [personal profile] purplestripe66, [personal profile] starandrea, & [personal profile] sekitou. My sister has also agreed to take pictures for us for $25--she's nothing if not money orientated.

Things are (kinda) looking up!
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
Reason #1) They turned my PMC2 trip into a family vacation so I don't have to spend as much and will be in California for a week instead of three days.

Reason #2) When my dad mentioned our hotel sleeps 6, I asked for clarification. He didn't bat an eye before asking "Why, you got a friend who needs a place to crash for the Con?" He then agreed to pick up [personal profile] purplestripe66 on our way through AZ, let her crash with us in California, and drop her back off on our way home.

So, Ruby will be coming with us because she won't have to spend a gazillion dollars for, like, three days. I

Power Morphicon needs to be, like, now. *nods firmly*
jadelyntate: (morphicon)
So, I can't sleep even though I got a minimum of 4 hours sleep last night. I'm in the midst of working on farmville and I realized just after taking in a penguin that I keep adopting all the strays James MacLuran (Mack) sends out. Its getting a little crowded.

In other news, PMC2 will apparently be announcing new guests soon--at least according to their facebook page. Part of me really wants Emma Lahana not to go but that part is just cause I don't think she deserves a stalker. The other part of me REALLY wants her to attend cause then I can get someone else to ask her about her episode on Stargate Atlantis (what, you think I'm actually gonna be able to speak at this thing? Cha, right!)

Speaking of PMC2, I forked over $100 bucks the morning registration opened and thus have my Gold Ranger package/pass. Thank God I got a large refund and was smart enough to save it. :D
If all goes according to plan, I should have about $400 to spend at the Con. Possibly more because its the first weekend after classes start and I should be getting a refund then too.

I ordered 20 packs of original, still in their packs, MMPR trading cards the other day for an insanely cheap price and they apparently arrived in town this morning. Since its the weekend, I won't be picking them up until Monday. *iz sad*

PurpleStripe66 and I have been texting back and forth since she lacks a working computer--she's currently bored and I'm trying to talk her out of sleeping outside tonight.

OH! Raise your hand if you want a valentine! (If I don't have your address, I'll email you or message you through DW.
