Boys are stupid.

Boys are stupid and jerks and just big poopyheads.

Also, they have horrible grammar and spelling!

I need a mad icon. I don't have one. The above will have to suffice.

So, in part II of my England Picspams, you get my trip to the Doctor Who Experience in London! The beginning was fun, as you got to take part in your own "Adventure" with the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith filmed special scenes for it). The rest was props/costumes. It was awesome. :D

I got back into Colorado at 7:30pm last night as I ended up with an half hour delay due to the rain in LA (I feel for everyone there--I was only there two hours but it was INSANE!). I got home about 10:30pm and didn't even unpack, I just Passed. Out.

I then woke up at 6:30am. Go figure.

Anyway, England was absolutely amazing! Some people have probably already seen some of the pictures on my facebook but I posted only a few as I was waiting till I got back home to go through them all. Now, however, I've gone through most of them and have about 250 I'll be printing out and sticking in a photo album. I'm not posting all of them but I thought some of you on my flist might like to see some.

I'm going to put this in separate posts to help with length and the image loads. First up, our trip to the British Museum, then the Doctor Who Experience in London, followed by Historical Tourist Sights in London, my day trip to Cardiff, Wales, and finally, Glastonbury Tor and Caerphilly Castle and Wells Cathedral.

That's the plan, anyway.

There were other sections but you could visit different parts every day for a week and still not have seen everything they have. Since we only had an afternoon, we spent our entire visit in the two sections I was most interested in (Daniel's insistance, not mine).

Oh, boy. England tomorrow (well, technically, in two days since its an overnight flight but I leave at noon tomorrow so...)

I have very little actually packed, as I have a midterm in about...three hours. Mom is picking me up at 2:30, we're getting my hair trimmed as my split ends have split ends, gonna go get another memory card for my camera plus batteries for my MP3 player and possibly more graph paper cause, you know, ten hours on a plane and I'm a night owl. After that...back home to properly pack and, you know, panic. :P

I also have to remember to print out my itinerary so I'm not completely lost when I get there.

Also? Daniel has a "surprise" for me on Sunday. He has a horrible poker face, however, and his "hints" should be in giant neon letters, they're so obvious.

- We have to be at a certain place at 2.
- I have to be in clothes I want to be photographed in
- Its Doctor Who themed ("Bow-ties are cool" was one of the "hints")
- He gave me a quote about "outside the doors we could be any planet, anywhere, anywhen..."

See what I mean about his horrible hints? ;)

For those who don't get it, the Doctor Who Experience opened in London last month. :D

Pictures will be posted when I get back. Have a good Spring Break everyone!

One week from today I'll be on a plane to England.

So, thanks to my awesome flist, I am no longer panicking about the immigration UK border thing.

Now, in fact, we're planning a few more things. We have tickets to see Wicked on Monday and we'll have all day Sunday to do the touristy thing in London.

One thing we decided to do is have lunch somewhere in London in something of a group setting, maybe Saturday or Sunday, March 12/13? Would any of my UK peeps be able to make it to London for a group lunch where everyone is a PR fan? Let me know!

I will be going to England for Spring Break, as most of you probably already know.

Well, I have my passport but now I'm trying to get a straight answer on if I need anything else when I get to Heathrow but so far, I haven't gotten a concrete answer from anyone. I will be a tourist, on vacation, nothing more, nothing less. At the rate I'm going, in addition to my passport, I will be taking with me:

- Bank records
- letters from my boss and the Dean of Student Affairs saying I'm a student who is doing the tourist thing and have been given time off to travel.
- My shot records
- A full on Itinerary of my trip (was making that anyway, so, you know, not too hard there)
- My trip itinerary from my airline.

If Anyone knows a concrete list of things they ask for, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Daniel is trying to get us tickets to see Wicked while I'm visiting him in the UK!

*squeals*

Also, I buy my plane ticket this weekend as I finally got my passport!

London Stuff to DO:
Globe Theatre (I'm taking Shakespeare this semester and I may get murdered by my professor if I don't see it over SB)
Tower of London
London Film Museum (Harry Potter/Doctor Who props)
British Museum (Rosetta Stone, I want to see it)
Kings Cross (Platform 9 3/4 anyone?)

I just got off the phone with my parents. My dad called cause apparently he finally realized we weren't kidding when my mom, sister, and I were discussing me moving to the UK after graduation in a year.

Dad: You're moving to England?!
Me: *patiently* Yes, Daddy, I've been telling you this for a month or so now.
Dad: You can't move to England.
Me: *still patient* Why not?
Dad: Cause I'm gonna have you arrested.
Me: *not so patient* For what?!
Dad: Stealing my heart.
Me: *snerks*
Dad: I'm serious!
Me: I know you are, which is why I'm laughing.
Dad: You can't move to England! What if you and Daniel don't get along and break up?
Me: I'm not moving to England for Daniel, I'm moving to England cause I've wanted to live there since I was a little girl. I'd probably have gone even without my boyfriend living there.
Dad: You have? Since when?!
Me: *slowly* Since I was a little girl. Pay attention!
Dad: Its too far away, you can't go.
Me: Daddy, its better than New York, right?**
Dad: *swiftly* Hell yeah! But you're still not moving to England!
Me: Sure, Daddy. Whatever you say, Daddy.
Dad: Are you being sarcastic? (to my mother) I think she's being sarcastic.
Me: *laughs*

**My Dad has an hypocritical fear of me living anywhere in the state of New York--I say hypocritical cause he was raised up state.

A few minutes after that, my mom got on the phone.

Me: Has Daddy completely lost his mind?
Mom: *without hesitation* Yes. He's already called your uncle to get him to start telling horror stories about when he lived in England with the Air Force.
Me: Didn't Uncle Pat love living in England?
Mom: Which is why your dad's plan has backfired spectacularly--your uncle is very excited about you moving to England. He'll have a legitimate reason to visit.
Me: *laughs*

Birthday Haul:
- Castle, season 2 (from parents)
- Power Rangers pillow (from parents)
- Tenth Doctor action figure (from Daniel)
- Toy Sonic Screwdriver (from Daniel)
- Stuffed teddy bear (from Daniel)

Christmas presents I opened a month early cause I'm WAY impatient and the boyfriend is kind of a push-over >.> <.< :
- Pink PR COMMUNICATOR
- Mighty Morphin MORPHER!

My birthday went surprisingly well. It was mostly quiet (except for the Skype convo with Daniel at my parents house--between him and my sister, wow, I laughed a LOT!).

My dad's been having blood pressure issues so it was pretty tense on that front all weekend--at one point, his blood pressure was...something over 109, which is really not good. He had a doctor's appointment on Saturday and they doubled his meds, which seem to be helping a lot and he has another doctors appointment today so...

I got a TON of birthday wishes on Facebook, including one from Paul Schrier (Bulk) with the pic of the two of us from Morphicon but he added a party hat to my head. It was sweet. :D

Today was pretty quiet as I mostly lounged around and cleaned (and discovered that apparently Sky was hiding in his zord and I totally didn't realize it...O.o). I didn't, technically, finish cleaning but its good enough for now. At least I don't have foot high piles of paper on my desk anymore...

And that was my 25th birthday weekend. Low-key but better than the last few years. But then again, ever since my grandmother died on my 14th, my birthdays are almost ALWAYS quiet.
jadelyntate: (Squee)
So, first things first, I turn 25 on Friday (Nov. 12th). I have plans to go to dinner with my parents and sister. They're taking me to my favorite Chinese place. That's about it. :) A quiet day.

Daniel (the boyfriend) sent me a package. Inside, separately wrapped, were five presents, a letter, and a card. Three were for my birthday and two are for Christmas.

Daniel knows how much I've fallen in love with Doctor Who so he bought me a Sonic Screwdriver toy, the Tenth Doctor action figure, and a teddy bear! And yes, I realize its not technically my birthday yet, I'm impatient, shush! :p

The two Christmas presents (which I'm not allowed to open until December 25th, *pouts*), I'm pretty sure, are PR related. Feeling em, I might be wrong but I'm almost positive the one is a communicator.

A POWER RANGERS COMMUNICATOR!

HOLY SHIT!

The other might be a morpher but I'm not sure what season. From the general feel...I think, POSSIBLY, its one of his MM ones. Again, not too sure though and I don't want to get my hopes up cause I would LOVE an MM morpher.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, they're the perfect gifts for me as they're ALL to my general likes and obsessions. On the other, I've never had a guy go to such lengths to find the perfect gift for me. O.o It feels very...quixotic.

In other news, the Crossing Over Awards winners have been announced. Tales from Atlantis won Best Comedy by over a 100 votes and came in second place for Best Crossover overall and came in third for Best Stargate Crossover. Second Verse, Same as the First, came in fifth for Best Stargate Cross. They also announced the top nominated authors and I tied with another author for sixth place, with 15 nominations. I'm ecstatic about all this! :)

So far, my birthday week is off to a great start!
jadelyntate: (Default)
So, on Skype, Daniel and I have been discussing Monopoly and have come to the conclusion we need to make a Power Rangers version.

GO: Command Center
Jail: Dark Dimension
Free Parking: Youth Center
Railroads: Megazord, Thunder Megazord, Ninja Megazord, & Shogan Megazord
Water/Electric: Dragonzord & Tigerzord

We do not yet have hotels/houses. Any ideas?

So, at Power Morphicon, I finally got to meet my friend Daniel in person. We'd been talking for ages online and we got along really well. A lot of times, your online personas mesh much better than in real life but with Daniel...well, it was like nothing had changed. It was great.

Thing is, Daniel is from the UK so he's back there and the time difference for us is about 7 hours. Which means when I get off work, he's sleeping (or, he should be!). This does not leave a lot of legroom to talk. Add to that, his cell apparently doesn't like texting me. He's fine with, like, everyone else but when it comes me his phone keeps revolting.

Last week, however, we realized we both have webcams. Add to that, we both have Skype.

So guess who I just spent 3 hours talking to?

*bouncy bouncy*

So...I'm completely skipping the days leading up to PMC by posting these now, but I want to get this out there. To whet your appetite...
