Over on TTH, there's a writer. I read one of her earlier stories cause the premise sounded good (all her plot bunnies sound good actually).

I was horrified by what she wrote.

Everyone has favorite characters, I get that, but she was twisting, or in a lot of cases, completely ignoring canon to make every character she hated look as bad as she possibly could and her favorites as good as she possibly could. EVERYONE was OOC and the basic fact was she wasn't writing a fic--she was using fic to openly bash/flame characters. I didn't even get half-way through the first chapter of that fic before I had to stop. It felt like she HATED the characters to alarming degree and I couldn't help but ask myself--if she hates the characters THAT much, what the hell is she doing in the Buffy fandom?!

Now, that said, I usually ignore her. I kept an eye out for her name and I always skip over her stories themselves, usually taking in the basic summaries. The sad part is that her plots could have actually been REALLY interesting if she wasn't using her fics as a platform to bash characters. Granted, an issue I have is that she starts a LOT of fics and never finishes. She has 150 fics on TTH alone and I think, MAYBE, 1/5th of them are completed. And she seems to write in a LOT of my own fandom, so when I'm going through the latest page on the site, I see a good basic summary in a fandom I like, I now have to double check that it wasn't written by her. Occasionally, I'll click on it without checking the author and every single time I have to leave halfway through in disgust and, honestly, not a little anger.

There was a discussion on the TTH forum a while back about how this one guy wanted an "ignore/hide" function for authors you don't want to see. He mentioned a lot of the points made above and more than one person said they're pretty sure they knew who he was talking about.

The main problem I have is that so very few of the people on the site will actually talk to her about it, even though others feel as I do. I've left her a few reviews, mostly on fics I clicked just to see if the story plot was even salvagable. She ALWAYS ignores the reviews and tries justifying herself (more often than not completely screwing her own reasoning up in the process).

Apparently though, she finally write one fic too many. I opened the reviews she got for her latest fic and...holy crap. Bravo, TTH people, BRAVO! A lot of them she hasn't even tried justifying herself because I think she's smart enough to realize she's pissing people off.

And, to end this rant/glee moment, I leave you with the review of one person who pretty much sums it all up:

I'll skip the same story retold...again, and just read the reviews and responses which I find far more entertaining.

End Note: And yes, I know its kinda bad to be amused she's getting the sharp pointy stick like this, but...gah!

FINALLY!

They must have finished replacing the fiber cables or whatever it was because my net is no longer spotty!

It only took em three days. *makes face*

In other news, I do not believe Hope for thr World is gonna be happening. I recieved a grand total of two official emails and one person who offered to give me her nominations through AIM (thanks Batty!) Since that's just...not good...Hope has been abandoned officially. *sighs*

Speaking of fanfiction awards, I have been nominated four times for the Crossing Over Awards over at Twisting the Hellmouth! The Note was nominated for Best Non-Buffy Cross, Dusting Duo was nominated for Best Sci-Fi/TV Cross (its my MMPR/Buffy cross), and Tales from Atlantis and Second Verse, Same as the First were both nominated for Best Stargate Crossover!

Voting begins 15 August so its possible I may get more nominations as they're still approving and sending out the notifications. :D
